The RFI CD28-37-50 is a broadband VHF Mopole antenna covering 138–163MHz, delivering a genuine 3dB improvement over a standard 1/4-wave whip. MBC base included, cable and connector sold separately.
Overview
The CD28-37-50 is a Ground Independent Mopole antenna, ideal for "alternative" mounting positions such as gutter, mirror, or trunk mounts where a full ground plane isn't available.
Using a patented matching circuit, it's an end-fed dipole combining a durable thermoplastic housing with a flexible tapered stainless steel whip resistant to knocks and bends. Field testing shows a 3dB improvement in received signal level compared with a 1/4-wave whip (pattern testing shows 1.5-2dB, equivalent to 1.5-2dBi), thanks to a lower radiation angle from the ground independent design.
This version comes with the MBC base fitted, cable and connector are sold separately so you can match the exact length and connector your install needs. If you'd rather have a complete kit, see CD28-37-73 (138-163MHz, MBC base with 5m cable fitted).
