  • AA Ni-MH battery pack
  • AC adapter (model dependent)
  • Belt clip
  • Hand strap
  • User manual

Note: the R6 runs on a standard AA Ni-MH battery pack rather than a proprietary Icom battery, and its SMA antenna and belt clip aren't shared with MSL's other Icom two-way radios. We don't currently stock any scanner-specific spares (battery pack, antenna, or belt clip) for this model, so nothing has been linked here. Standard AA rechargeables work as a substitute if the supplied pack ever needs replacing.

FAQs

Do I need a licence to use this?
Receive-only scanners generally don't require a licence in NZ, but check current requirements for the specific bands you plan to monitor, some transmissions are restricted from being disclosed or acted on.

Can this transmit as well as receive?
No, the IC-R6 is receive-only. It won't transmit on any frequency.

Is this waterproof?
It's IPX2 rated, drip-resistant rather than fully waterproof, so it'll handle light rain but shouldn't be submerged.
